Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know what type of screen I have in my new house?
When buying a house with any type of screen enclosure, some are fortunate to purchase a home with a screen enclosure that was already re-screened with Super Screen. Super Screens have a 10 year warranty from the day of installation.
If you are not sure which type of screen you have, give us a call and we’ll come out and let you know the type of screen you have.
How often do I have to change the screws on my screen enclosure?
On screen enclosures with regular zinc fasteners, which most companies use, we recommend you replace screws with Nylo-Tec & Pro-Tect 6-8 years from installation date, to prevent rust and provide long term strength and durability.
How do I get rid of the mold, yellow paint stains, and the fading look on my screen enclosure?
You can clean and remove mold and stains with the use of the right metal cleaner and polish, microfiber towels, and the proper equipment that will reach every corner of your screen enclosure. For more information please visit our Screen Enclosure Detailed Cleaning page.
Why is my screen panel loose?
If it is the screen door, most of the time it is due to constant pushing against the screen while opening the door, or improper installation. If it is a roof or side screen panel, it is either due to many years of high wind damage, or improper installation.
Why did my screen rip along the side?
After many years of deterioration and high winds, the fiberglass screen that most companies install on enclosures becomes brittle and tends to rip along the side, requiring replacement every 3 to 5 years. For 3 times the strength and durability, we recommend you consider using Super Screen. For more information please visit our Screen Repair page.
